    Roof Crew Member - Detroit Lakes, MN

    Summary 

    Performs a variety of facility maintenance functions to include building / facility maintenance, repair, replacement and / or warehouse duties on structural, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and sanitary systems and related equipment and machinery. Analyzes maintenance repair requests and identifies problems and implements solutions. May be involved in the maintenance of office furniture and equipment and the build out of workstations and other minor facility alterations. Coordinates various vendors and contractors in the maintenance and repair of equipment. Completes preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems. Manages inventory of spare parts to provide maximum uptime on all equipment. Keeps records for preventative maintenance for machines and equipment.

                  Working with a production team or individually, the Rough Plumbing Crew Member assists in routing pipes through wall cavities to create water supply systems. Identifies plumbing and safety concerns applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action.  Performs necessary clerical duties related to the project.

                  • Previous construction, carpentry or plumbing experience preferred 
                  • Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, blueprints, floor plans and work orders for projects
                  • Ability to use both manual and power tools such as screw guns and belt sander in a safe and correct manner
                  • Proficient in soldering skills with use of copper pipes
                  • Knowledge of state plumbing codes
                  • Ability to perform physical work overhead for extended periods of time
                  • Ability to use mathematics and measuring devices to calculate length, width, height, depth, etc. 
                  • Ability to follow written and spoken instruction
                  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably and consistently

                              Position Summary:

                              The Production Trainer plays the lead role in training all new hires and leads process and continuous improvement projects. This role will report to the General Manager.

                              Roles and Responsibilities:

                              • Training and motivation of all new employees.
                              • Manages the onboarding process by training production workers at workstations and in classroom settings.
                              • Performs any additional tasks including leading other training programs such as, safety, quality and continuous improvement as assigned by the production manager or general manager.
                              • Assists Human Resources and Supervisors with selection of new team members.
                              • Participates and contributes to projects to meet department goals and objectives.
                              • Identifies gaps in the new hires skill level to determine the need for additional training and/or performance management.
                              • Train and certify all personnel on safe operation of all equipment, including forklifts and scissor lifts.
                              • Prioritize safety and accident prevention.
                              • Stress to new hires the importance of work attendance and the vital role they fill on the line.
                              • Manage multiple new hired employees at a time.
                              • Familiarize new hires with where to find everything in the facility, including (but not limited to) the breakrooms, bathrooms, human resources, emergency exits, etc. 
                              • Develops new training methods.
                              • Creates and maintains instruction materials- SOP’s and SWI’s
                              • Provides ongoing education to employees on process improvement. 
                              • Develops lesson and workshops to instruct employees on more effective ways to carry out their jobs.
                              • Ensures the quality and consistency of training content. 
                              • Adheres to all company policies and operational procedures.
                              • Promotes understanding of overall company profit and loss though selected projects.

                              • Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
                              • Ability to take accurate measurements.
                              • Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
                              • Must poses a strong attention to detail in completing work tasks.
