Position Summary
The Construction Management Financial Operations Intern supports the financial and operational functions of residential construction projects by assisting with pricing, order verification, invoicing, and documentation review. This role works closely with construction management, sales, and accounting teams to ensure builder orders are accurately priced, production-ready, and invoiced correctly. The intern will gain hands-on experience in construction financial operations, cost estimating, and process coordination while contributing to efficient project execution and financial accuracy.
The intern will be responsible for completing all tasks outlined in their assigned summer project plans. Interns must participate in all mandatory internship programming, evaluation periods, and professional development sessions. Attendance at sessions, remotely, will be determined and approved by the Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and prepares cost estimates and pricing proposals for assigned product lines and builder accounts.
- Maintains and updates builder and dealer pricing manuals to ensure accuracy and alignment with current costs and policies.
- Reviews and verifies drafting blueprints for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications.
- Supports order processing activities, including data entry, documentation review, and coordination with internal teams.
- Reviews and confirms pricing accuracy for house orders submitted by builders.
- Verifies builder house production orders to ensure completeness, accuracy, and alignment with approved specifications.
- Prepares and processes invoices for all house orders in accordance with company procedures and timelines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial and organizational information.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Drafting or Business Administration with at least two (2) years of completed coursework.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
